This concert will feature music from the latest duo recording of UK jazz musicians, Alan Barnes and David Newton and is the culmination of over 33 years performing and recording together. The pair are positively inspired on a selection of jazz gems, and standards covering a wide range from Don Redman to Chick Corea.

Alan plays clarinet, and alto and baritone saxophones with equal facility and David has an astonishing ability to keep rolling bass lines going in the left hand, whilst playing soaring improvisations in the right.

Between them they have won over 30 British Jazz awards, and Alan has also won the BBC best Jazz instrumentalist award on two separate occasions.

This will be an intimate and relaxed session, with pleny of stories as background to the music.
